The only way to truly excel at Mafia Wars is to understand the basic strategies behind the game. One of the primary strategies that I use on in Mafia wars is called the “Energy focus strategy”. The most ideal character type for this strategy is the manic type, as you will gain back energy at a higher rate than any other class in the game.
For every level that you gain within Mafia Wars you will receive five skill points, how you distribute those skill points will determine how successful you are at the game. By focusing solely on using those skill points for your energy stat, you can in fact power level your way through most of the game. If you take into consideration that every 24 hours you can get a energy boost from your mob, you can utilize this strategy to gain the levels. Later on you can apply your skill points to your other stats to boost your overall strength, but in the beginning this is the most valid strategy that you can use.
Be warned though, this strategy will leave you venerable to attacks. Only use this strategy if you don't mind having a large death count initially. While I would not consider this strategy to be one of the cheats for Facebook Mafia Wars, it is by far the easiest way to attain high levels relatively quickly in this game.
